May 02, 2018  The problem with the Suncoast poker room was, while being in an affluent part of town, all of those players who lived close would rather play the bigger and better games at Red Rock for an additional 10 min drive. I used to be in a bowling league there for a year and never stepped foot in their poker room (also bad location way in the back).

The Suncoast's casino offers 95,000-square-feet of gaming and features over 2,000 video poker and slot machines, as well as 34 table games. The table games offered include blackjack, roulette, craps, baccarat and pai gow poker. The Suncoast Casino also has a poker room, a race and sports book, plus live bingo.

Suncoast has a good assortment of video poker games with pay tables that return around 99% and that is one reason for its popularity with the locals who search out good gaming values. The casino also offers all of the newest and most popular slot machines. Before you make a visit to the Suncoast, be sure to sign up for Boyd Gaming's BConnected card! This players club card, which can be used at all Boyd properties, has three levels which offer different rewards you can earn while playing. Ask for more details at the players club desk.
In addition to its first-class gaming options, the Suncoast also offers a very good assortment of restaurants. For fine dining, there are two options, SC Prime Steakhouse & Bar and Salvatore's. SC is a classic-style steakhouse which, in addition to beef entrees, also offers seafood, lamb, pork and poultry as well as an extensive wine list. Salvatore's is an Italian restaurant which serves an assortment of Italian entrees, including veal, chicken, seafood and pasta specialties.
For something more casual, there is a Du-Par's restaurant, seafood at the Oyster Bar, and typical American fare at the Fans Sports Bar. There is also a little bit of everything at the St. Tropez Buffet, which features seven unique serving stations - Italian, Mexican, Mongolian, Seafood, BBQ, Chinese and Dessert. Patrons dine in separated areas to ensure more privacy and a home-like, intimate dining experience. Pricing starts at just $11.99 for breakfast or lunch ($17.99 on Sundays for the champagne brunch), and $16.99 for dinner ($26.99 on Fridays and $21.99 on Saturdays). Anyone showing their B Connected players club card is given a minimum discount of $4 off all of those prices.

Entertainment choices at the Suncoast also run the gamut, from a 16-screen movie theater, to a 64-lane bowling alley, to a video arcade for the kids, plus a great 500-seat showroom that features a variety of entertainers, including top-name Vegas headliners.

Suncoast Details

The Suncoast Casino and Resort in Las Vegas boasts a medium-sized poker room with around 10 tables of diverse action. The cash-game variation here is quite strong, as The Suncoast spreads limit hold’em, no-limit hold’em, spread-limit seven-card stud and stud eight-or-better at low stakes. The max rake is $3 in all cash games at this venue. Given that the resort is some distance from the Las Vegas Strip, it mainly caters to local players.

The Suncoast poker room weaves through the back of the casino in an L shape. The area is advertised to passing players by a very large lighted “poker room” at its entrance. The tables are packed together quite closely on top of a leopard-print carpet, with orange-backed swivel chairs for players not too dissimilar to high-end office furniture. Blocks of lighting and mounted lamps on the lemony walls illuminate the action. Those lamps also draw the eye toward wall-mounted TV screens, which broadcast televised poker, sports, and news throughout the day.

This non-smoking poker room rewards players with comps at the rate of $1.25 per hour, which is slightly above the rate found at many venues of this size. In addition to this, The Suncoast offer poker players a 20% discount on accommodation on the condition that the guest plays for at least 4 hours per day through the duration of their stay. The poker room is served by waitresses who take orders for cocktails and tableside food service. Comps can be swapped for these services or banked for use with any other food vendor within the property. Regular promotions include a seasonal freeroll, NFL prediction competitions and high hand jackpots
